I have never been a super bubbly person, but a few years ago I realized that I was struggling with full-blown depression. I was having a difficult time getting out of bed in the morning, and I knew that I didn't want my life to go on like that. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, I decided to meet with a counselor to talk about overcoming this challenge. She talked with me about self-help techniques that I could implement when I wasn't at therapy, and it was incredibly helpful.
